What is competitive trail riding? How do I condition my horse? And myself? What do I pack? What tack should I use? What about electrolytes and feed? All these questions and more will be answered during ECTRA’s Competitive Trail Riding 101 Virtual Clinic on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, from 7:00-9:00 p.m.
The goal of the virtual clinic is to introduce competitive trail riding and provide some basic information for preparing for a first ride, but even experienced riders may learn something new! Experienced riders (with over 23,000 competition miles among them) will discuss how they prepare themselves and their horses for competitive rides. A knowledgeable veterinarian and lay judge will discuss the vetting and judging process.
Everyone welcome! Please spread the word, especially to anyone who may be interested in competitive trail riding but has never been to one.
